Lesson 283 My True Identity Abides In You

PART II.  SECTION 7.  What is the Holy Spirit?

Lesson 283 My True Identity Abides in You

  1. Father, I made an image of myself, and it is this I call the Son of God.  Yet is creation as it always was, for Your creation is unchangeable.  Let me not worship idols.  I am he my Father loves.  My holiness remains the light of Heaven and the Love of God.  Is not what is beloved of You secure?  Is not the light of Heaven infinite?  Is not Your Son my true Identity, when You created everything that is?
  2. Now are we one in shared Identity, with God our Father as our only Source, and everything created part of us.  And so we offer blessing to all things, uniting lovingly with all the world, which our forgiveness has made one with us.[1]

The image that we have made of ourselves and call a Son of God is but a parody of the unchangeable, holy Creation of God.  I will not worship it or bow down before it!  I will not find my identity in this body, nor its female parts that would tempt me to separate myself from my brothers.  I will not mistake the ego demands for survival, the time constraints, the vulnerability of the body, and the desire for wealth, worldly acclaim, and special relationships for my real Self.

For I have everything I want; I am he whom God loves!  God made us one and whole – not male or female, not black or white, not Greek or Jew, not beast or human, not rich or poor, first world or third world, but One!

We are one creation with God our Father, our only Source.  When we forgive and are forgiven the perversion that we have made of God’s creation – we can genuinely offer blessing to all, for it is united in love and holy brotherhood.  In Jesus’ name, let us know our true Identity in You, Father.  Amen.

Coming up on sixty, my love for God, home and hearth, my husband and family fueled my decision to devote the rest of my life only to pursuits which brought love, joy, peace, and purpose. I am a writer, seeker, student, and teacher with experience professional and otherwise from waitressing to teaching the English language in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. I hold a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, which took nearly 30 years to attain while I squeezed courses in between raising my children, journaling, relationships, work, and an assortment of escapades, some of which I would rather forget! An ongoing passion for reading, writing, adventure, food, and fun, eventually led me to the love of my life, James, whom I met in 1996 and married in 1997. Our life together has been an exciting journey of work and travel, spiritual awakening, and domestic bliss ever since. Although we have experienced the tragic loss of family members and friends through death and estrangement, we have managed to turn our special relationship into a holy one by the grace of God and an acute and growing awareness of “there must be a better way!” In 2006, I published my first novel, Luella’s Calling, and am currently working on my second, Grover Good and the Stone Chateau. From 2013 through 2018, I worked as a Prevention Education Specialist for Transitions, a local domestic violence sexual abuse victim’s service agency. My work there, fueled by a lifelong enthusiasm for teaching, led me to obtain an MS in Education from Scranton University. In 2018, I resigned to accompany James on his work travels while focusing on my calling to study and teach A Course in Miracles. To that end, I dedicate the rest of my days to writing, sharing, and teaching the message of salvation found within the Course pages. Thank you for your interest in this blog.
