Lesson 303 The Holy Christ Is Born In Me Today.

II.  SECTION 9.  What is the Second Coming?

Lesson 303.  The holy Christ is born in me today.

  1. Watch with me, angels, watch with me today.  Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born.  Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear.  Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home.  And let Him hear the sounds He understands and see but sights that show His Father’s Love.  Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.
  2. Your Son is welcome, Father.  He has come to save me from the evil self I made.  He is the Self That You have given me.  He is but what I really am in truth.  He is the Son You love above all things.  He is my Self as You created me.  It is not Christ That can be crucified.  Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son.[1]

Angels watch with us today!  Today’s illustration was inspired from Tara C.’s post on Facebook last night.  There is nothing like a host of angels to capture our imaginations and send them soaring to heavenly heights.  The course refers to angels as God’s Holy Thoughts, and these Thoughts surround us and are still while Heaven’s Son is reborn in us.  Our lesson today exhorts to let all earthly sounds go mute as we close our eyes to the things we usually look at, for we are welcoming Christ today.  This is how He becomes us, and we become Him.

I like to think of the word become in both of its meanings.  Christ becomes us. The very idea of Christ makes us beautiful, enhances us, benefits us, becomes us.  Where we were dark and sullen, we are now bright and cheery.  Where once we despaired of flesh and bone, blood and cartilage; now we have taken heart and filled with hope in the incorruptible.  Where once we were full of anger, resentment, and spite, now we are joyful, forgiving, and kind.  Where once we could do nothing but meddle, putting our noses where they did not belong, now we can mind our business, releasing our slights and wrongdoings to Holy Spirit.  Christ becomes us!

And we become Christ as He becomes us.  He becomes us as we make a place for him.  Angels watch with us as we prepare a quiet and safe place for Him to abide and grow in us.  We nurture His tender and quiet spirit by damping the jarring music of this world and letting our little Christ within hear the exquisite sounds He understands, the songs of love and adoration; the lullabies of peace and joy; the hymns of praise and gratitude for Creation.  Just as loving parents of a newborn child, we care for the Jesus within by not partaking of the things that would call us away or distract us from the awesome responsibility that has blessed and fulfilled our deepest longing and given our life a holy purpose.  We harbor the Second Coming within us, my brothers.

Let Him be no stranger here!  He has returned within us, born again in me and you.  Let us not malnourish Him with the paltry junk food of this world.  Let not our egos torment Him by mocking His holiness or denying Him His rightful place within our minds.  Let us not amuse ourselves at His expense.  Let us not use Him as a weapon for defense and attack. Instead, let us cherish our Prince of Peace, and play the happy games of God, inspiring Creation with love, peace, and joy.  For Christ has returned.  He is born in us today.

My love for God, home and hearth, my husband and family fueled my decision to devote the rest of my life only to pursuits which brought love, joy, peace, and purpose. I am a writer, seeker, student, and teacher with experience professional and otherwise from waitressing to teaching the English language in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. I hold a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, which took nearly 30 years to attain while I squeezed courses in between raising my children, journaling, relationships, work, and an assortment of escapades, some of which I would rather forget! An ongoing passion for reading, writing, adventure, food, and fun, eventually led me to the love of my life, James, whom I met in 1996 and married in 1997. Our life together has been an exciting journey of work and travel, spiritual awakening, and domestic bliss ever since. Although we have experienced the tragic loss of family members and friends through death and estrangement, we have managed to turn our special relationship into a holy one by the grace of God and an acute and growing awareness of “there must be a better way!” In 2006, I published my first novel, Luella’s Calling, and am currently working on my second, Grover Good and the Stone Chateau. From 2013 through 2018, I worked as a Prevention Education Specialist for Transitions, a local domestic violence sexual abuse victim’s service agency. My work there, fueled by a lifelong enthusiasm for teaching, led me to obtain an MS in Education from Scranton University. In 2018, I resigned to accompany James on his work travels while focusing on my calling to study and teach A Course in Miracles. To that end, I dedicate the rest of my days to writing, sharing, and teaching the message of salvation found within the Course pages. Thank you for your interest in this blog.
