II.  SECTION 9.  What is the Second Coming?

Lesson 306 The Gift of Christ Is All I Seek Today.

  1. What but Christ’s vision would I use today, when it can offer me a day in which I see a world so like to Heaven that an ancient memory returns to me?  Today I can forget the world I made.  Today I can go past all fear and be restored to love and holiness and peace.  Today I am redeemed and born anew into a world of mercy and of care, of loving kindness and the peace of God.
  2. And so, our Father, we return to You, remembering we never went away, remembering Your holy gifts to us.  In gratitude and thankfulness we come, with empty hands and open hearts and minds, asking but what You give.  We cannot make an offering sufficient for Your Son.  But in Your Love the gift of Christ is his.[1]

Today’s lesson is a call to us to remember that ancient memory of God’s Kingdom.  When we remember God’s Kingdom, this world is easy to forget.  Yesterday we discussed how the ego world entraps us with its intrigue, revenge, condemnation, and violence, often disguised as the war between good and evil, right and wrong, and justification for anything but the peace of God!

The religions and spiritual practices of ego-world will not give us peace.  It will give us more separateness, more conflict, and more despair.  Let us see past the ego-world and seek the gift of Christ, forgetting this world and envisioning only a world so like Heaven that our memory is restored and we are born anew!

This then is the Second Coming of Christ. As Christ is reborn into each of us, we accept His gift of peace, and our world will be restored to love, holiness, and peace.  Gladly, we can leave the ego-world behind with its never-ending tales of war, destruction, disease, dying and be born again into a world of mercy, love, kindness, compassion, and the peace of God.

Imagine!  No more sickness or pain.  No more condemnation and separateness.  No more loneliness and despair.  We cannot bring this world into existence with the works of our hands or with minds and hearts closed by the fear and illusions of the ego. It is in our grateful, joyful return to God that Christ comes again! Let us open the door for Him within our minds and hearts and receive His peace.

Coming up on sixty, my love for God, home and hearth, my husband and family fueled my decision to devote the rest of my life only to pursuits which brought love, joy, peace, and purpose. I am a writer, seeker, student, and teacher with experience professional and otherwise from waitressing to teaching the English language in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. I hold a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, which took nearly 30 years to attain while I squeezed courses in between raising my children, journaling, relationships, work, and an assortment of escapades, some of which I would rather forget! An ongoing passion for reading, writing, adventure, food, and fun, eventually led me to the love of my life, James, whom I met in 1996 and married in 1997. Our life together has been an exciting journey of work and travel, spiritual awakening, and domestic bliss ever since. Although we have experienced the tragic loss of family members and friends through death and estrangement, we have managed to turn our special relationship into a holy one by the grace of God and an acute and growing awareness of “there must be a better way!” In 2006, I published my first novel, Luella’s Calling, and am currently working on my second, Grover Good and the Stone Chateau. From 2013 through 2018, I worked as a Prevention Education Specialist for Transitions, a local domestic violence sexual abuse victim’s service agency. My work there, fueled by a lifelong enthusiasm for teaching, led me to obtain an MS in Education from Scranton University. In 2018, I resigned to accompany James on his work travels while focusing on my calling to study and teach A Course in Miracles. To that end, I dedicate the rest of my days to writing, sharing, and teaching the message of salvation found within the Course pages. Thank you for your interest in this blog.
