Lesson 317 I Follow In The Way Appointed Me

Audio credit: http://www.eckiefriar.com Lesson 317

II.  SECTION 10.  What is the Last Judgment?

Lesson 317 I follow in the way appointed me.

  1. I have a special place to fill; a role for me alone.  Salvation waits until I take this part as what I choose to do.  Until I make this choice, I am the slave of time and human destiny.  But when I willingly and gladly go the way my Father’s plan appointed me to go, then will I recognize salvation is already here, already given all my brothers, and already mine as well.
  2. Father, Your way is what I choose today.  Where it would lead me do,  I choose to go; what it would have me do I choose to do.  Your way is certain and the end secure.  The memory of You awaits me there.  And all my sorrows end in Your embrace, which You have promised to Your Son, who thought mistakenly that he had wandered from the sure protection of Your loving Arms. Today’s lesson is one of freedom and liberty. It has to do with the final judgment – in that, we judge the world as we know it as a zero.  We realize that this version of the world has nothing we want or need.  The world has taught us what love is not, what we do not want, and what we do not need.  We are no longer content to be a slave of time and fate, loneliness and despair.   Let Salvation teach us to be free!

Salvation, confident in the outcome, knows of our return to God.  Only in time do we have as yet to take our place, to do what has been appointed.  As the trite and useless ego fades away, Christ returns within our hearts and minds.  Remembering our Father’s love,  we accept, embrace, and believe what has been ours all along.

Dear Father, We choose to walk in Your path today.  We choose to go where Love would lead us.  We choose to do what Love would call us to.  We follow in the way that you have appointed for each of us to take.  We have slaked our folly on the things of this world, we judge against its nothingness.  We mistook ourselves for bodies and for egos, Father, but now we know that we are Your Sons.  Designed to walk the certain path which ends in Your eternal Kingdom, we return to live in bliss and unending glory, protected by Your love and care.  In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.

Coming up on sixty, my love for God, home and hearth, my husband and family fueled my decision to devote the rest of my life only to pursuits which brought love, joy, peace, and purpose. I am a writer, seeker, student, and teacher with experience professional and otherwise from waitressing to teaching the English language in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. I hold a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, which took nearly 30 years to attain while I squeezed courses in between raising my children, journaling, relationships, work, and an assortment of escapades, some of which I would rather forget! An ongoing passion for reading, writing, adventure, food, and fun, eventually led me to the love of my life, James, whom I met in 1996 and married in 1997. Our life together has been an exciting journey of work and travel, spiritual awakening, and domestic bliss ever since. Although we have experienced the tragic loss of family members and friends through death and estrangement, we have managed to turn our special relationship into a holy one by the grace of God and an acute and growing awareness of “there must be a better way!” In 2006, I published my first novel, Luella’s Calling, and am currently working on my second, Grover Good and the Stone Chateau. From 2013 through 2018, I worked as a Prevention Education Specialist for Transitions, a local domestic violence sexual abuse victim’s service agency. My work there, fueled by a lifelong enthusiasm for teaching, led me to obtain an MS in Education from Scranton University. In 2018, I resigned to accompany James on his work travels while focusing on my calling to study and teach A Course in Miracles. To that end, I dedicate the rest of my days to writing, sharing, and teaching the message of salvation found within the Course pages. Thank you for your interest in this blog.
