II.  SECTION 13. What is a Miracle?

Lesson 350 Miracles mirror God’s eternal Love.  To offer them is to remember Him, and through His memory to save the world.

  1. What we forgive becomes a part of us, as we perceive ourselves.  The Son of God incorporates all things within himself as You created him.  Your memory depends on his forgiveness.  What he is, is unaffected by his thoughts.  But what he looks upon is their direct results.  Therefore, my Father, I would turn to You.  Only Your memory will set me free.  And only my forgiveness teaches me to let Your memory return to me and give it to the world in thankfulness.
  2. And as we gather miracles from Him, we will indeed be grateful.  For as we remember Him, His Son will be restored to us in the reality of Love.[1]

Today’s lesson reminds us nothing can change our truth as Sons of God.  We can say that God is dead, God never was; God has forgotten us.  We can say we created ourselves, that we are bodies and not spirits, that we are better off on our own, and that Jesus is a mere historical figure that madly asserted our Sonship of God.  We can choose to scoff at the resurrection.  We may choose to seek our bliss in the pleasures of the flesh and our purpose in achievements of the temporal world.

However, truth is truth.  We are Sons of God, and that will never change – the only thing that will seem to change is how we see ourselves and the world in which we live.  What we see and experience here in the body and in ego world is a direct result of the thoughts and imaginings that we hold about it.  This is where our God-born creative powers are put to the use of the ego, turning Creation against itself in a warped illusion of godless strife and separateness.

The memory of God that will free us from the nightmare we have authored.  It is only our forgiveness extended without reserve throughout the nothingness of time that teaches us the memory of God.  In recognition and forgiveness, our darkened, frightened minds are transformed by the certainty of God and His love for us.  When we offer miracles, we are offering God’s eternal Love.  Because we have remembered Him, we have remembered ourselves.  And it is through remembering God that the world is saved.

As we remember God, the Sonship is restored to us in the reality of Love.  We are no longer alone, separate, afraid, and doomed. Our troubled minds are a thing of the past.  Our thoughts are now filled with peace and joy.  We become a spiritual haven for one another, offering quietness, brotherhood, and the certainty of God.  Our existential angst is put to rest; our eternal bliss is awakened.  Miracles mirror God’s eternal Love, indeed!

My love for God, home and hearth, my husband and family fueled my decision to devote the rest of my life only to pursuits which brought love, joy, peace, and purpose. I am a writer, seeker, student, and teacher with experience professional and otherwise from waitressing to teaching the English language in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. I hold a BA in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, which took nearly 30 years to attain while I squeezed courses in between raising my children, journaling, relationships, work, and an assortment of escapades, some of which I would rather forget! An ongoing passion for reading, writing, adventure, food, and fun, eventually led me to the love of my life, James, whom I met in 1996 and married in 1997. Our life together has been an exciting journey of work and travel, spiritual awakening, and domestic bliss ever since. Although we have experienced the tragic loss of family members and friends through death and estrangement, we have managed to turn our special relationship into a holy one by the grace of God and an acute and growing awareness of “there must be a better way!” In 2006, I published my first novel, Luella’s Calling, and am currently working on my second, Grover Good and the Stone Chateau. From 2013 through 2018, I worked as a Prevention Education Specialist for Transitions, a local domestic violence sexual abuse victim’s service agency. My work there, fueled by a lifelong enthusiasm for teaching, led me to obtain an MS in Education from Scranton University. In 2018, I resigned to accompany James on his work travels while focusing on my calling to study and teach A Course in Miracles. To that end, I dedicate the rest of my days to writing, sharing, and teaching the message of salvation found within the Course pages. Thank you for your interest in this blog.
