II. SECTION 9. What is the Second Coming?
Lesson 308 This instant is the only time there is.
- I have conceived of time in such a way that I defeat my aim. If I elect to reach past time to timelessness, I must change my perception of what time is for. Time’s purpose cannot be to keep the past and future one. The only interval in which I can be saved from time is now. For in this instant has forgiveness come to set me free. The birth of Christ is now, without a past or future. He has come to give His present blessing to the world, restoring it to timelessness and love. And love is ever-present, here and now.
- Thanks for this instant, Father. It is now I am redeemed. This instant is the time You have appointed for Your Son’s release, and for salvation of the world in him.[1]
Jesus tells us we escape our entrapment in time by reaching past it. We change our conceptual framework so to speak. When we ask the Lord to make time’s purpose real in our minds, we learn that in reality there is no past and there is no future, it is always the present. It is the present moment that the Second Coming is established in our hearts. As we give up our attachment to the past; it is no longer able to project itself into our future. The veil is lifted. Freed from the lies and illusions of the past, our mind enters into the eternal now of God’s Kingdom. We take on our true identity in Christ.
We are redeemed; we are saved from the dream of death and decay and awakened to the truth. We understand then the meaning of time – and we are freed from it, for its purpose has been made complete in our minds. Christ has come and reestablished our natural and rightful place in the Kingdom. We are one with Him and with all of Creation. We see the other as ourselves. This is our salvation, Jesus tells us – now – we forgive the illusion and all the imaginations that contributed to its madness, we bless the world and everything in it, and we are restored as one to timelessness and love.
Ask our Heavenly Father to illuminate this lesson to your mind and give the fearful teachings about the Second Coming of Christ to Him. Ask Him to shine the light of truth upon any false beliefs or dreams of terror you may cherish. This instant, as you clear the altar of your mind and put your trust in Him, your mind will grasp the truth. You, too, will be set free of all the frightful images that we have associated with the Second Coming of Christ. The clouds that obscure His great love for us will be swept away as we experience the rapture of God’s devotion to us, His Creation. He has not forgotten us. He has not abandoned us. He has not plotted revenge or eternal torments. While we dreamed of death, disease, and torment, He has kept our spot at the table in certain, happy expectation for our return.
