II. SECTION 13. What is a Miracle?
Lesson 346 Today the peace of God envelops me, and I forget all things except His Love.
- Father, I wake today with miracles correcting my perception of all things. And so begins the day I share with You as I will share eternity for time has stepped aside today. I do not seek the things of time, and so I will not look upon them. What I seek today transcends all laws of time and things perceived in time. I would forget all things except Your Love. I would abide in You and know no laws except Your law of love. And I would find the peace which You created for Your Son, forgetting all the foolish toys I made as I behold Your glory and my own.
- And when the evening comes today, we will remember nothing but the peace of God. For we will learn today what peace is ours, when we forget all things except God’s Love.[1]
In our sixth lesson on understanding, applying, and practicing miracles, we learn that we must forget all things that are not God’s Love. Miracles remind us of God’s Love. Remember that God’s Love encompasses Everything that we really want. We want love, peace, and joy. We want God’s mercy and tenderness. We want life and not death. We want health and not sickness. We want to feel safe, happy, and secure. We want fellowship, friends, and family. When the peace of God envelops, we forget all things that would stand in the way of the Everything that is His Love.
What are the things of time that we must forget in order to establish the peace of God in our consciousness? We must forget discord, disease, destruction, and death. We must forget lies, betrayals, rivalry, and shortages. We must forget enmity, pain, sin, suffering, shame, and sorrow. We must get past guilt, finger-pointing, and rumor-mongering. When we recognize that these pastimes are purposefully devised to divide us and distract us from God’s peace (which is where we remember God’s Love), it becomes our privilege to turn off the news, turn our backs on our social media accounts, and bring our minds and hearts, wholly and solely to our devotional practice.
When we abide in God and only know His laws, we do not worry and fret over who gets to be president, we do not concern ourselves with the world’s latest calamities, we do not get our panties in a wad over communism, socialism, or Catholicism. We do not remember God’s Love when we are worked up into a frenzy. Miracles that reflect God’s Love occur in peace and calm and certainty. Our forgetting the toys of time does not mean that we do not care about the world; it simply means that we know that our happiness and hope come only from God in Whom we trust. We know that as we count it all joy, as we put our trust only in Him and His great love for us, that the miracles that save the world come about.
Today commit yourself to letting the peace of God envelop you. Remember only His Love. His Love encompasses everything that makes you truly happy for this is His Will for you. Let the things that time offers to pass your time and keep you in a frenzy go. Let your worries and concerns, your blame and shame be a thing of the past as you accept the peace of God and bask in His Love. No matter what situation you may find yourself in, God’s peace is for all and in all. Go for God’s peace. Reach for God’s peace. Take a stand for God’s peace. This is the realm of miracles. This is where you will find healing for yourself and for the world.
