LESSON 361-365
Day 363
This holy instant would I give to You. Be You in charge. For I would follow You, certain that Your direction gives me peace.
- And if I need a word to help me, He will give it to me. If I need a thought, that will He also give. And if I need but stillness and a tranquil, open mind, these are the gifts I will receive of Him. He is in charge by my request. And He will hear and answer me, because He speaks for God my Father and His holy Son.[1]
Today we come to our devotional practice and give these holy instants to God. Again, we put God in charge. We follow Him because now we know – going in the direction of God, following His direction brings us not only Peace, but His mercy and His Joy.
It is God’s Peace which gives us what we really want and what we really need. When we put God in charge of our lives as human beings, our heavy burdens become light, the path to God becomes easy. We are no longer going back and forth trying to decide who and what we are, who and what is in charge of our life, and to what purpose our lives serve. Now we know. God is in charge!
If we make a mistake, God will correct it. If we go down a wrong path, God will bring us back to where we belong. Our worries and concerns for ourselves and our loved ones are over. We have aligned ourselves with Truth. We have accepted Reality. God provides everything we could possibly need and want and have. It is not for us to partake in the ongoing worries and concerns that plague the temporal world. We can love and live and laugh in the realm of forgiveness. We know our reality is not in this world but in the world beyond the bands of time.
As we toss our identity to the lower-case self, our identity in Christ becomes all we are. We are no longer light and darkness, we are light! We are no longer holy and unholy, we are holy! We are no longer clean and dirty, we are pure! We are no longer innocent and guilty, we are innocent! When God is in charge, we are therefore perfect even as Christ is perfect. For we are one with Him who is peace.
Others may call us crazy and be quick to point out all our faults. No matter! We have put God in charge. When God is in charge of me, my process, my walk, my journey to Him is none of anybody else’s business, even as it is none of my business about your process, your walk, your journey to Him. If I make a mistake, He will correct it. If you make a mistake, God will correct it. We belong to Him. He loves us and will hear our prayers and answer our requests, as long as we seek only to extend His gifts of mercy, peace, and joy.
Claim God’s Gifts only for ourselves and those we think are deserving – we have not put God in charge, we have put ourselves in charge! Claim God’s Gifts for ourselves to give to others without partiality, without judgment, with no thought but of receiving to give, and giving to receive, we have put God in charge of our sojourn in time. When we put God in charge, we exchange our little selves for the Self that is like Him, the Self who is holy, the Self who stands with Christ and is God’s beloved Son.
No longer are we stumbling about, fumbling around wondering what we are here for and what best to do with our days, the hours, the minutes of our life. Each instant is holy for our time is God’s time. We know Who we are. We know where we end up. We know how to get there. With God in charge, now we know whom to call, what to say, whom to visit, whom to stay away from! Now that we know the difference between going our own way and going God’s way, going God’s way is our only choice for this is the way of peace, to peace, to become peace.
Today during our devotional practice, meditate upon the ways in which you can put God in charge of your days, your hours, your minutes, each holy instant of your human journey. Commit to identifying with and following the Voice for God which is inside each one of us – calm, quiet, peaceful, and forgiving. The Voice for God will never lead you astray for His Voice is one of love, of mercy, of eternal joy and everlasting happiness for you and for all of Creation. This is the Voice we want to be in charge!
